Great feature set. New features are added as soon as they become available. Good support. Great reliability and security.
Not able to use my domains for DNSSEC if they are not registered through 20i.
20i gives our customers complete control over their hosting and domains.
Support is always rapid, lots of product options available.
Some ongoing issues with caching which often needs resolving via support.
Ease of onboarding new client projects quickly.
Friendly staff on support tickets, a nice looking interface, the ability to have whitelabel links for email configuration etc, and the option to transfer complete packages from WHM panels and Heart etc
A few things don't work properly. For example hostshop. For the life of me I can't add test credentials for Stripe, it just sits there. So I can't use the service without involving the support team, and I don't have the time to chase the issue down, so I just don't use hostshop and it sits there in the background. Occasionally 20i itself will just not load at all, maybe about once a week. It's only temporary, but it's enough to notice it occurring.
A solid service that's a good price. It's basically what Heart Internet should have been. It helps me to know that I can set up a hosting package for a small to medium business and it will work.
Their support team for the most part are super helpful and usually pretty responsive. I love that their platform is almost unlimited, so there aren't the usual worries about hitting a cap or account limit. The service is pretty flexible too, being able to apply differing limits and options to the hosting accounts and manage everything centrally, including their stack user account and which hosting accounts they're able to access. The Master FTP service is also super helpful!
I am disappointed to write this review, but I have no choice given our recent experience with 20i. Firstly their claims that "StackCP" and "Hostshop" are comparable or superior to widely recognised competitors like cPanel or WHMCS are simply not credible. The gap between these options is significant and does not favour 20i. There has been a noticeable drop in the quality of customer service in recent months, which is quite concerning. Instead of taking decisive action to address the root cause of the problems, they seem to be adopting a more evasive approach by blaming third-party entities, such as WordPress plugin providers. This is unacceptable and needs to be rectified immediately. The system lacks several features that are considered standard on other platforms, such as resellers being unable to access mail logs of client accounts for troubleshooting. This is a significant oversight and creates unnecessary frustration. The current back-and-forth method via their ticketing system and between ourselves and our clients is inefficient and time-consuming. Direct access to all logs would make resolving these issues much easier. The function of "bot verification" is a constant source of frustration, targeting any URL that appears as a login or admin page. This often results in time-outs and multiple instances of being blocked from accessing our CRM, with no option to disable the bot checker ourselves. This unnecessary and avoidable downtime requires waiting for it to resolve itself or requesting the "bot check" be disabled by 20i. It's imperative that this issue is addressed promptly. The inability to view firewall logs and ascertain if API calls are being blocked is also deeply frustrating. Moreover, having migrated from a cPanel hosting service, we had expected a certain level of feature parity. One glaring absence in 20i's offering is the lack of a calendar function on their email service. Despite being told over a year ago that this feature was under development, it is still not available and is always "in development" or "coming soon". The "new features" released by 20i are subpar and focused on fast rollout rather than quality. Their Hostshop service displayed incorrect domain prices, which is unacceptable. We attempted to use WHMCS as an alternative, but their touted automation process with their WHMCS Addon was far from seamless. The setup was frustrating, the instructions were unclear and didn't function as advised. Their recent foray into "managed cloud hosting", designed to rival platforms like Cloudways, is a poor imitation. We gave it two trials, each time finding it clumsy and confusing, leading to a necessary cancellation and a challenging process to secure a refund. Adding insult to injury is 20i's refusal to allow the disabling of “auto-renew” for virtually all services except domains. Forget to cancel a day before renewal and you're embroiled in a tiresome back-and-forth with customer service as to why they can't refund you. Furthermore, the lack of access to logs, such as those for the website and email migration tool, results in needless confusion when a migration fails. The resulting back-and-forth dialogue with 20i is time-consuming, laborious, and a significant drain on resources, impacting our ability to provide a consistent service to our own clients. It strikes me as ironic that 20i proudly displays a plethora of awards on its website. Do these accolades reflect the actual user experience or are they simply window dressing designed to attract unsuspecting customers? Based on our experience, I lean towards the latter. Despite the glittering array of accolades on their website, our interactions with 20i have been far from award-worthy. The company seems more invested in flaunting its trophies than ensuring client satisfaction. Although it may seem impressive at first, upon closer examination, it becomes clear that there is a significant lack of substance. In summary, the correlation between 20i's trophy cabinet and client satisfaction is questionable. Awards and accolades have their place, but not if they come at the expense of effective customer service and product reliability. It's high time 20i shifted focus from laurel-resting to addressing the issues leading to such disappointing user experiences. In totality, our experience with 20i has been disjointed and exasperating. We will undoubtedly be exploring alternative options when our renewal is due next year. Unfortunately, the only race in which 20i seems to be outpacing its competitors is the race to the bottom.
20i is helping us to offer a reliable hosting service to our clients so that we're able to easily adapt to our client's needs, and migrate them easily to something like a VPS should they outgrow the cloud hosting service. This means that there is less manual intervention needed. Also being able to orchestrate everything with the integrated API is amazing.
