It is a complete feature set. - Automations work as well as expected and are very easy to design. - Integrations with other platforms is very complete. You rarely find a missing integration. - Texting is included. This is so important in marketing today. One feature that not all systems can do is to edit a live automation. You can start an automation, and people can enter the automation, and you can continue to add steps and make adjustments even while they are active in the flow.
I wish there were a direct connect to the CRM I am using, which is ZOHO, but that might not be a high priority CRM for ActiveCampaign. There is a fully featured integration using zapier.
It has allowed us to easily follow up with leads coming from Facebook. I can start a newsletter campaign and finish it as I go.
It is easy to see the new names coming into the contact list. Campaigns are relatively easy to compose and send out. Analytics are very comprehensive
I don't like the fact that there are many different ways to add information to one contact. For example, depending on where you enter the first name, it may not show up in your contact list. I might type a name in the search bar and it doesn't show up even though they are in my contact list.

We use AC to do A/B testing of email marketing, do micro-segmentation, drip campaigns, and blast messages. AC is easy to use, powerful, and intuitive.
If there some additional list management capabilities built into the UI, that would make doing batch edits a bit easier / faster.
We lacked powerful tools with which to perform drip campaigning and prospect development messaging. The benefits to us have included improved telemetry, visibility, and better conversion rates.
The tag system and the automations are surely the strong points that differentiates it from the competitors I have tried before. The product team always works on new features. This way my projects are always up to date. I really appreciate it. It's amazing also for the number of integrations that I can choose from.
Nothing in particular. Maybe sometimes I run into other systems that don't integrate directly and I have to go through Zapier. But in the end, I still reach my goal.
I use ActiveCampaign to acquire contacts from the company website, to track their behavior on the site or on emails and to manage the relationship with each of them through CRM. With ActiveCampaign I have a perfect machine for generating and nurturing contacts, it integrates perfectly with Wordpress and with the other systems and platforms we use.
It is so important to keep an overview of what you are actually creating. The automation flow total picture became so important for me, I once printed it out to display my business model.
Active Campaig is complex and this complexity should be reviewed with a kick as UI/UX. You can do better here, for example picture uploads could be accessed by all team members and should be better sorted.

ActiveCampaign is very easy to use and incredibly powerful. For a very low start up cost you can create incredible automations and build custom landing pages. You can then upgrade the system to bring in feature like pipeline management and AI.
The reporting could be better on the entry level version, although once you upgrade then more reporting options are available. Also you can use push data into Google Sheets and view reports there too.
We're using it to create custom lead generation funnels and create end to end ROI reporting.
How helpful they are and user friendly, especially since I came from Aweber.

Not being able to upload a list download into another list without enabling another automation. We like to love our lists to broadcast only after our automation ends so we can send emails without automated messages from automation.
The ability to reach out to our audiences with value while we sort the buyers into more targeted lists using forms and various campaigns. It saves us a ton of time and it's easy to set up and implement.

ActiveCampaign does all the tasks that we need in record time including tracking sales, email campaigns, excellent analytics. It was easy to learn using tutorials and one-on-one onboarding so we were able to transition from our current program to ActiveCampaign with ease. I like being able to manage everything from the dashboard and create the dashboard to suit my individual needs.
It is pricy, so you need to be committed and know your numbers if you're on a budget. I don't like the live chat as I don't feel it is as seamless as some other brands. Perhaps some get more with the site and the landing pages, but when we looked into them, it again seemed like it was trying too hard, I prefer to use it to do what it's really good at which is being a solid CRM. There are so many features that you need to potentially dedicate a full-time person to the task of AC management.
Tracking the sales has been really helpful, especially with failed payments using the deals area. It's also great how the builder works for emails because it is WYSIWIG we can make formatting changes with ease. The reporting is really thorough and we can download and analyze the data easily. The lists feature is helpful for managing different contact lists and we love the tagging for really drilling down to who should receive the email.
The cost! Can't get a better value than this! We consider ActiveCampaign to be very reliable and it's quite easy to teach new employees how to use it!
Most of the "campaigns" end up going to client's spam folders and this is frustrating. We have resorted to Gmail to distribute most of our urgent communication but we still do most of the marketing communication via ActiveCampaign.
This is our main CRM. We just started using the DEALS section and this has been hugely helpful as well. I love the email templates and automations and we have linked many of our website functions to ActiveCampaign with a ton of success.
I love the automations system, the variety of triggers, the easy of use...and the customer service! We've created automations for pretty much everything, well segmented, and with several tweaks. Plus, the AB testing works great!
I'd like more options for the attribution system, same for the conversations. We have several stores connected and you cannot dive these features per store. So, you see the attribution for all stores and you. can only set up a chat automation for all stores.

Setup with Shopify was a bit difficult--had to ask for help. Also, the forms are hard to implement in Shopify. There isn't an easy install option, you need to know how to work with Shopify code.
Set up some automations to save some personnel hours. We've realized some profit from reviews and sales from having the automations in place. We also send email campaigns that generate sales and keep us top of customer's minds.

ActiveCampaign is straight-forward and easy to use. It is organized well. We particularly appreciate how our database can be managed and accessible. We know that there is far more that we can do with ActiveCampaign than we currently utilize.
I have managed our database on ActiveCampaign for two years + and have yet to find anything I do not like about it.
We use it to send mailings to our database and to sub-sets of our database. It is easy to keep the sub-sets separate, and to combine as needed for sending larger mailings.
Active Campaign meets all the needs of our growing business and exceeds them. As an email tool it is unparalleled in its ability to segment and track, and the automations have been invaluable in creating sales funnels that allow us to convert leads.
The main area that could be improved is in the testing ability of complex funnels - being able to walk through your creations and variations simply would be beneficial
We are able to nurture leads, move them through our process, foster repurchases, build our lists in facebook for marketing purposes, and generally spend far less time on marketing to our leads.
First of all, I liked the onboarding process: the fact that I had specialists to explain things, answer my questions, and hold my hand during the migration period was a game-changer. I learned a lot and it saved me a lot of time and spared me the frustration that usually comes when using a new platform.
That when I came across some technical issues with some automation, it was very difficult to access a technical resource to support me. I had to pay an external resource, as the first availability of the support team was almost 2 weeks far ahead.
It saves me time and energy, as I use automation for onboarding new clients.
