The interface and its responsiveness. The previous solution was a bit slow.
The reload screens and notifications - it would be nice if most of them could be a background task.
Accessing the information through a web browser helped overcome the older system`s licence limit.
I love the ability to see my projects laid out for the days, weeks, and months ahead. Its UI makes it really seamless and easy to get all of the necessary info I need.
The path from the timeline view to my personal user information which features project reporting is a little clunky, but that's all.
I'm a user of Float rather than a PM, so for me it's all about planning and managing my own time ahead of schedule and Float captures all of that information for me really easily and simply, making planning and flagging anything in my timeline really easy.
We love the ease of use of Float to visualize our team's schedule. It allows us to quickly see how our people are resourced and make adjustments on the fly with the draggable task blocks. It was extremely easy to set-up and implement with our team and projects–no tutorial or laborious how-to required!
We only use the basic features so there's nothing I can think of that we dislike. I wouldn't mind a sleeker or more customizable interface though :)
It has allowed us to essentially self-manage projects without having to have a dedicated PM on staff.
I could visually look at my day at my glance. Manage and track my project and time allocated.
Nothing much. It's actually a great tool but if I could collaborate with other tools I use would be great.
It helps me prioritize my projects, Vacation management, timesheet management.
The flexibility to input projects, times, etc for yourself and others, and run reports
Could be more useful integrated with a task manager
Solving team resourcing time, and has helped to keep projects within budget
Float is great for organizing tasks within your group/organization.
It can be hard to figure out how to use some features.
Float is helpful in delegating tasks to members within our team. It is really beneficial to have visibility on what is being worked on.
Easy to setup and use without any training required. Clean interface that makes it easy to view and update resources assigned to projects. Love the ability to easily drag to extend duration of tasks assigned.
Would be great if there was a better integration with our timesheet tool (Xero) to populate timesheets automatically based on plan in Float.
Float has been a game changer in effectively managing our resources across projects. We now have a clear view on our resource pipeline and it’s allowed project managers to better utilise team based on availability and make more informed hiring decisions. Everyone can see what people in the team are working on, which has been super handy now the team is working remotely.
Great features and simple interface to use
Mobile app interface slowness can be improved
Time management
Float allows us to better manage our projects and teams, track overtime work, vacations, sick leaves, etc. It is easy to use and very convenient to simply drag the projects in the calendar view Also, you can mark departments, skills, tags which is very handy as well
The interface can be a bit more modern, however it is not a big deal
Better manage our projects and people, understand the % of people's workload
Very easy to see how all employees are staffed as well as upcoming availability.
It would be nice if scheduled could be "swapped" to other employees.
Great at long-term planning. Easy to see employees dedicated to long-term projects, employees who have gaps and time off.
It has a simple interface and is easy to use.
I don't receive email notifictions when a change has been made, perhaps this something wrong with the setup of the tool.
General scheduling, I am user using Float and I find it useful to see what tasks I am booked on for the week.
I like how easy float is to use and how there is options to choose between user, project, etc.
I have no complaints about this software.
Scheduling and sorting out project is very easy using float. No problems.
I am using float for almost 2 years not and I am in love with it!! It made my life easy when I am working on multiple projects with easy navigation, clean design and easy to understand interface. The reporting tool in float is an excellent tool to get an insight of billability plus more for whole workforce. Export feature allows to easily export whole data in CSV format for further analysis. Notification also serves a useful purpose which notifies user through the app or email when a change is made or new item being added. I highly recommend Float for managing projects, scheduling and resources.
Nothing as of now as it has all essentials features inbuilt.
I am using float to get an updated view of currently assigned and future project. Also, I am able to clearly understand the time I need to spend on each project.
Float is a user-friendly tool to manage resources. It significantly helped our company to streamline processes and have a quick insight into what going on our projects.
The UX is really cool but he UI could be more appealing.
We manage our company's resources through Float. We benefit a lot from having a clear insight into what's going on at projects.
I like Float, because it is the most efficient way to keep track of our day. We use float to review our individual schedules, but most importantly--we can keep track of everyone else too!! At a glance, I can review my project details and associated colleagues assigned to it. Float also allows me to look at future projects. I especially appreciate the notifications I get via email on my upcoming schedule. This is helpful when things change...as they sometimes do. I am instantly "in the know". It pays to know...so this product is invaluable!
Nothing! From the Schedule to People to Projects to Reports, I am able to quickly find valuable information about our team.
I am solving the age-old question of Billable Hours! This is a quick reference to not only mine, but others on the team. I also use it to help focus my communication when a colleague may be in a different time zone. I can keep track of everyone here--which is a great benefit.
It is easy to deploy, and easy to use on a daily basis.
No issues whatsoever...it does exactly what we need it to do with no hassle.
Visibility to resources over multiple offices and work sites is very challenging. Float help us to manage that effectively, giving all team members that visibilty.
Float has a lot of features, but one of the most important is the dashboard to overview our projects allocation in one page. It's easy to understand where our team is working on and some possible work gap in our future schedule.
Float has a lot of report options. However, in our company, we always track the Earned value management for our projects. Currently, Float does not support this report. Then, we need to calculate it in an external software. We already got in touch with Float and it's on the track to be developed.
Float helps us to have an overview of our company allocation. It's easy to understand how many people are allocated and available to work on new projects. We use this information to help our commercial area and project management to predict gaps in work and help us to improve the accuracy of our project. Last but not least, using Float we can track our project budgets and always be aware of its financial healthy.
Ease of use, and quick learning. it increases my productivity greatly. Ever since i started using Float, i have grown more and more dependent on it. It is now a go-to tool.
Use interface is a bit outdated/dull. it could be improved and polished. The filtering feature could also be reworked to speed up the filtering process.
Im aware of all my team's work hours and free time at a glance.
It's an easy way to see what project's people are on in the company. Extremely fast solution to come in to work, and find out where and what you're doing with zero faffing around.
When float gets busy the UI starts to get slightly messy with many different projects.
Instead of taking an hour in the morning speaking to project managers to see where I am supposed to be in the day, I can just open float and get on with what i'm supposed to be doing.
It is very easy to navigate - I like that I can save a 'favourite' team
I don't have anything that I can pinpoint as Float's fault
I like that people can request my time and it goes through an admin before they are added to my schedule
